"On Specific Challenges We Face (3)"

Thank you sincerely for visiting this page.

Here, I would like to continue discussing the 'specific challenges' faced by individuals with developmental disabilities.

In Japan, a culture of protracted waiting permeates interactions, particularly when dealing with requests and applications. This culture, often overlooked, inflicts significant hardship, especially upon individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. This discourse seeks to illuminate this often-neglected issue, scrutinizing the societal structures that underpin this burden.

The Spiritual Toll of Waiting on the Neurodivergent

Neurodiversity encompasses a spectrum of neurological variations, notably Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). For those navigating life with these unique neurological makeups, the act of waiting manifests as a distinct form of suffering.

  • For Individuals with ADHD: ADHD is characterized by core symptoms of inattention and impulsivity. Consequently, the imposed stillness of waiting becomes an agonizing trial, a crucible of restless agitation, and an inferno of anxiety and impatience. It is akin to tethering a spirit yearning for flight, a violation of their innate drive.
  • For Individuals with ASD: Individuals with ASD may struggle with discerning the intentions of others. The state of “being made to wait” can be misconstrued as a stark message of rejection or neglect, a chilling descent into the abyss of isolation. This can trigger profound feelings of insecurity, loneliness, and a corrosive sense of self-worthlessness, a direct assault upon their God-given dignity.

The Peculiar Agony of Financial Applications

The distress is exacerbated by the protracted processing times associated with financial applications, such as grants and subsidies. When livelihoods hang in the balance, the indefinite limbo of awaiting a decision engenders not only economic hardship but also a spiritual crisis, a test of faith and resilience. This is a particularly poignant affliction, as financial stability is intertwined with the ability to provide for oneself and one's family, a sacred duty in many faiths.

The Paradox of Ruthless Exactions and Dilatory Welfare

Adding insult to injury, the collection of taxes and social insurance contributions is executed with merciless immediacy, a swift and unrelenting hand. This stands in stark contrast to the protracted delays encountered when seeking much-needed assistance. This incongruity breeds a deep sense of injustice, a feeling of being abandoned by the very system meant to uphold the common good. It echoes the biblical lament of giving to Caesar what is Caesar’s, while the needs of the flock are left unattended.

The Gerontocracy and the Propagation of Delay

This prevailing climate is deeply interwoven with the demographic reality of Japan’s aging society. With roughly one-third of the population comprised of senior citizens, a “slower” perception of time has become entrenched in the social fabric.

  • The Temporal Landscape of the Elderly: Older individuals, often blessed with ample time and deliberate movements, may be less perturbed by waiting.
  • Social Conformity: Society at large has adapted to this measured pace, normalizing the experience of waiting.
  • The Expediency of Pension Disbursements: Conversely, pension payments for the elderly are expedited due to their critical importance to their livelihoods. This rapid response for one segment of society, juxtaposed with the delays experienced by others, intensifies the perception of inequity.

A Society Antithetical to the Flourishing of the Neurodivergent

As a consequence of these interwoven factors, individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions face myriad challenges in their daily lives. The tribulation of waiting, coupled with economic anxieties and societal misunderstanding, creates a tempest within their souls. This environment presents an existential challenge, impeding their ability to thrive and fulfill their God-given potential.

This is why your warm 'support' is so vital. Even the smallest gesture can make a meaningful difference.

"Please Help Us"

"Please Help Us" "We Are Being Persecuted" In the nation of 'Japan,' simply because we are labeled as 'individuals with developmental disabilities,' we endure suffering. We are individuals with developmental disabilities, seeking only understanding and compassion. Our outward appearance may resemble that of 'neurotypical individuals,' but this surface similarity denies us the empathy we desperately need. Instead, we are met with cold stares, burdened under the oppressive weight of 'conformity.' We humbly plead with you: "Save Us." We only wish to live lives that are 'spiritually free.' Here is our heartfelt request to you: "Share this site, blog, or video far and wide." And, "Express your kindness in tangible ways." Please, open your hearts, listen to the call of compassion, and extend a hand of mercy to those in need. Together, we can be the light that brings hope and healing. The official websit...

Introducing Contributors and Sharing Insights on Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in Japan.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to visit this page. Allow me to begin by offering a brief introduction of myself. I am an individual living with developmental disabilities. Specifically, I have been diagnosed with a combination of 'ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).' At present, I am working to manage my symptoms through medication. Due to the nature of my condition, I kindly ask for your understanding should my writing come across as aggressive or incoherent at times. Finally, I would like to humbly share a glimpse into why we, as individuals, feel that we are subjected to 'persecution.' Though it may seem commonplace, I wish to draw your attention to several voices from our community shared on X (formerly Twitter). These individuals speak candidly about their experiences: ( Please note that the content is in Japanese.
