Microaggressions

Thank you sincerely for visiting this page.

Here, I would like to introduce a topic unique to Japan’s high-context society.

Have you ever heard the term 'microaggressions'?
It refers to small acts of aggression that, while subtle, can have a significant impact.

What makes this particularly problematic is not whether the person delivering the remark intended to hurt the other person. In fact, in many cases, such remarks are made with the intent of offering a compliment or encouragement.

In Japan’s high-context society, this is something nearly everyone has encountered at some point. What makes it even more challenging is that the person on the receiving end often understands that 'there was no malice' behind the comment, which makes it difficult to openly protest or express discomfort.

However, some individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those with HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) traits, are more vulnerable to these seemingly benign remarks. Unintentionally, such interactions may cause them emotional harm over time.

This issue has recently become a topic of discussion in various news outlets.

At its core, this issue reflects the deeply ingrained prejudices and discrimination that persist within Japanese society.

In essence, it directly ties into the challenges that individuals with developmental disabilities face in their daily lives.

This is why your warm 'support' is so desperately needed. Even the smallest gesture can make a meaningful difference.
We humbly ask that you share this blog or website with others to help spread awareness.

Thank you deeply for taking the time to read this to the end.

"Please Help Us"

"Please Help Us" "We Are Being Persecuted" In the nation of 'Japan,' simply because we are labeled as 'individuals with developmental disabilities,' we endure suffering. We are individuals with developmental disabilities, seeking only understanding and compassion. Our outward appearance may resemble that of 'neurotypical individuals,' but this surface similarity denies us the empathy we desperately need. Instead, we are met with cold stares, burdened under the oppressive weight of 'conformity.' We humbly plead with you: "Save Us." We only wish to live lives that are 'spiritually free.' Here is our heartfelt request to you: "Share this site, blog, or video far and wide." And, "Express your kindness in tangible ways." Please, open your hearts, listen to the call of compassion, and extend a hand of mercy to those in need. Together, we can be the light that brings hope and healing. The official websit...

Introducing Contributors and Sharing Insights on Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in Japan.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to visit this page. Allow me to begin by offering a brief introduction of myself. I am an individual living with developmental disabilities. Specifically, I have been diagnosed with a combination of 'ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).' At present, I am working to manage my symptoms through medication. Due to the nature of my condition, I kindly ask for your understanding should my writing come across as aggressive or incoherent at times. Finally, I would like to humbly share a glimpse into why we, as individuals, feel that we are subjected to 'persecution.' Though it may seem commonplace, I wish to draw your attention to several voices from our community shared on X (formerly Twitter). These individuals speak candidly about their experiences: ( Please note that the content is in Japanese.
