Thank you sincerely for visiting this page.
Here, I would like to provide a brief explanation of why we find ourselves subjected to 'persecution.'
To help you understand this, I will first introduce the concepts of 'high-context societies' and 'low-context societies.'
The term 'context' generally translates to "circumstance" or "background," and in some cases, it may be interpreted as "relation" or "interconnectedness."
To elaborate further:
In a 'low-context' cultural sphere, communication tends to rely heavily on direct expressions and logical reasoning.
Eloquence is valued, and silence is often viewed as a disadvantage.
Conversely, in a 'high-context' cultural sphere, much of the communication is implicit, relying on shared understanding, subtle cues, and nonverbal messages, such as silence. This culture often emphasizes concepts like "reading between the lines," "silent understanding," and "sensing the atmosphere."
Japan is a quintessential high-context society, where phrases like "reading the air" or "harmonizing in unspoken agreement" are considered second nature.
Unfortunately, this cultural characteristic can become a source of great distress for individuals with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or ADHD, as their unique traits often clash with the implicit nature of high-context communication.
This discussion is admittedly extensive, so I will continue it in a future installment.
Thank you deeply for taking the time to read this to the end.
